A small house

A suburban house built with plenty of space on the site.

This is a project of an architect's own house. The site is 200m2 with a good view situated on the hill. The minimum area for sale has been set for the surrounding area, and it has maintained a good residential environment since the lots were sold 50 years ago but in recent years, vacant houses and lots have become conspicuous due to the distance from the station and the large area becoming a bottleneck. It is a residential area that tends to be disliked by the younger generation, who don't need such a big house. And I was also looking for a small house without exception. Taking advantage of the characteristics of the large site, I wanted to create a long and narrow plan with a large surplus stretching from north to south so that the first floor would be part of the garden and have continuity to the outside. The plan is point-symmetrical, and by making the gable roof ridge centered right between north and south, the house is concentric to the site, and there is no front and back on the north and south, and each garden is equivalent. The second floor emphasizes private and functional livability, but you can feel the garden from the large windows on the first floor through the atrium. Until now, people have preferred living near the train station, puttig emphasize on the city center, but the living environment people are looking for has changed since 2020, when this house was completed.I would like to embody the way of suburban house through this house.
