まちのような国際学生寮International Dorm-City

「共同生活を通した新しい交流空間の実現」を求められたプロポーザルから始まった、200人の学生が集まって暮らす学生寮の計画。 言語や食文化などの国や地域の文化・慣習だけでなく、個人の好みや気分で変化する暮らし方を含めた、一人一人が持つ多様な個人的バックグラウンドこそが交流のキッカケになると捉え、”ポット”と名付けた小さなリビングのような居場所が4層吹抜けの共用部に立体的に点在する学生寮を考えた。 ポットは10m²前後の居住スケールで、ひとつひとつの形、据え付けられた家具や仕上げも全て異なるようにした。 生活の大半を過ごす共用部に多様な居場所を複数用意することで、学生が主体的に居場所を選択して使うことや、そこでの出会いに期待している。 学生同士のコミュニケーションが固定的なものにならず、常に全体を感じながら偶発的で流動的な出会いがある「まちのような国際寮」を目指した。

It started from a proposal for a competition of a dormitory for 200 international students to live together that required “Realization of new community space through living together”. We thought that not only cultures and customs, such as language and dietary, but also diverse backgrounds including personal preferences of each students could become a trigger for communication. We created a space like a small living room which we named “pot” and arranged them in three dimensions inside the huge 4-story atrium. The “pot” is a dwelling scale of 10-meter square footage, each having different shape with different furnitures and finishings. We expect spontaneous encounter inside the common space with various place to stay, where the students spend most of their times. It is a “International dormitory like a city” , where communication between students are not just a routine but fluid and casual.
